Ben Travis is a solo artist who writes all his own songs, as well as sings and plays the piano, and sometimes guitar and drums. He engineers and produces all his recordings. His style is gentle, yet thoughtful, inviting listeners to think and ask meaningful questions about the world around them.
Ben grew up in a small town in Kentucky called Dawson Springs, and learned to play the piano by listening and watching his dad play. He then attended Belmont University in Nashville, TN, and graduated with a degree in vocal composition in 1996. He continues to record and perform his own music while balancing that with a career as an elementary school teacher. His influences include Elton John, Billy Joel, and Sting.
